MasterMoney™
Check Card*
Think of your MasterMoney™ check card as a “plastic
check” that can be used at many places which don’t
accept checks. The MasterMoney™ check card is linked
to your checking account, and can be used at ATMs around
the world. And since the MasterMoney™ check card is
part of the MasterCard®
network, you can also use it just like a credit card to
make purchases. But instead of charging purchases, the amount
is deducted automatically from your checking account, so
there are no finance charges. It’s also easy to keep
track of your cash, since your purchases are listed on your
monthly checking statement. The MasterMoney™ check
card is accepted anywhere you see the MasterCard®
symbol, and there are more than 12 million MasterCard®
merchants worldwide.

Electronic
Banking Tips
Using your Credit Union ATM or check card is a simple way
to obtain cash, make deposits, check account balances, transfer
funds, make purchases and much more. To enjoy the many conveniences
that electronic banking provides, you should make ATM and
check card security a top priority. Here are a few important
safety tips to follow.
Treat
your card like cash. Always keep your card
in a safe place.
Do
not expose your card’s magnetic stripe to magnetic
objects. This can damage your card.
Keep
your Personal Identification Number (PIN) a secret.
Memorize your PIN, and never write it on
your card or store it with your card. No one else needs
to know your PIN. If you conduct transactions over the telephone,
never disclose your PIN.
Save
your receipts. Promptly review your account
statements and report any errors as soon as possible.
It is a good
idea to take another person with you when using an ATM or
outdoor Point-of-Sale (POS) terminal at night.
If anyone follows
you after making an ATM or POS transaction, drive immediately
to a crowded, well-lit area and call the police.
Report a lost
or stolen card immediately. If your ATM, check card or credit
card is lost or stolen, please contact the Credit Union
24/7 at any of the following numbers: 903-323-1245, 903-323-0230 (Option 7), 800-256-5009 (ext. 1245), 800-442-4757 (Credit Cards), 800-442-4757 (Debit / ATM Cards)
ATM
Safety
Prepare for your transactions in advance to limit your time
at the ATM.
Do
not leave your card at the ATM. Do not leave
any receipts or documents at the ATM because they may contain
important account information.
Do
not lend your ATM card to anyone.
Prevent others
from seeing you enter your PIN by using your body to shield
their view.
Always be aware
of your surroundings when using an ATM. Use well-lit areas
with good general visibility. If you observe any suspicious
activity, leave immediately and go to another facility.
Do not accept
assistance from anyone you do not know when using an ATM.
Do not display
your cash. Pocket it as soon as the ATM transaction is completed.
Count the cash later when you are in a secure surrounding.
At a drive-up
facility, make sure all car doors are locked and windows
are rolled up (except the driver’s window). Keep the
engine running and remain alert to your surroundings.
Check
Card / Point-of-Sale Safety
Never allow the cashier or any other person to enter your
PIN – even if they are assisting you with the transaction.
Be certain your
transaction is complete and review your receipt before leaving.
If you receive cash back from your transaction, put it away
before leaving.
When using an
outdoor POS terminal, such as a gas station, always observe
your surroundings before making a transaction. Remain alert.
When
using an outdoor POS terminal, leave the area at once if
anyone or anything appears suspicious.
